“His offspring will be mighty in the land;the generation of the upright will be blessed”
Psalms 112:2
How do we want to be remembered when we leave this world? , what do you think people will say about me or you?, who would really miss our presence?. These questions need some deep introspection into who we are and what are we doing to leave behind a legacy.
The most important part that we will leave behind are our children, our very flesh and blood. They represent our history, our values and our future in this world , they are and should be our legacy. The wealth,mansions, organizations or things we leave behind will not complete our story , our really legacy lives in and through our children , our living legacy.
Thus we need to build our living legacy , starting today. It starts with us becoming more like who God wants us to be . The generation of the upright will be blessed and that means, we live in line with God’s Word not for our satisfaction and achievements but for our offspring to be blessed in God’s glory. We live not not for our glory but for the lives of our children to reflect the love of Christ.
The living legacy starts with us becoming more like Christ . It begins when we men , start doing our work in righteousness, loving our fellow beings with purpose, leading our families in purity, establishing His glory through our deeds and teaching our children to walk in His Word.
Remember , we are being watched , our every move and action are embedded into the minds of our children, they continue our lives in them. So if Christ does not live in us , our children will not see Him. They need to see Christ in us to know Christ .
Start building your living legacy today, it’s never late , with Christ there are more than second chances, He will change you and He will lead you. Start working on your living legacy now, spend more time with your family , build schedules with purpose and passion to be with your children, share with them your faith journeys, tell them the mistakes you made and how God forgave and changed you, fill your home with questions, sharing and singing, see and taste things together to understand the unlimited creative power of our God, be “them” once in a while to really know them, learn the Word together and explore the truth of God and never forget to have fun.
