( A series on how men of God should be in today’s world based on Psalms 112)
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful and righteous.
Psalms 112:4
There is darkness around us , there are enemies who plot and scheme against us . As men of God we are to be aware of these forces that work against us but we need to also constantly remind ourselves that our God is greater than all the darkness and adversaries that rise against us.
When we work with God , light dawns into our darkness not by our strength but by the power of Christ on our lives. We may think that the battle is ours to fight but the battle is the Lord’s, all He asks us to do, is three things.
He asks us to remain gracious to others as He has been gracious through our many failures and defeats. He wants us to show mercy unto others as He has been merciful to us and He commands us to lead a life of righteousness that honours Him and reflects His glory in our lives. Thus making us upright before His throne.
Why are these three important? , it is because to be able to be gracious, merciful and righteous we need His power in us , we need His light in us . The fact is when we try to fight the darkness with our light , we fail miserably. Victory over darkness happens when we start reflecting His light into our darkness .
The devil fears the presence of God’s light through us ,for in the name of Jesus, we have victory over every weakness, sickness and darkness that lies around us. So let’s rise today with purpose , share grace , show mercy and pour righteousness into our lives so that we may see God’s light through our lives , defeating the darkness.
Let His Light dawn into our darkness.
