( A series on how men of God should be in today’s world based on Psalms 112)
For the righteous will never be moved, he will be remembered forever. He will not be afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting the Lord. His heart is steady, he will not be afraid until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
Psalms 112: 6-8
There is bad news lurking everywhere, ready to pounce on us , ready to break us down and make us look helpless. Bad news at work, in your family, in your ministry , in your church, in the economy, among your friends , bad news is an ever present truth following us everyday.
When it hits us , the question that we need to ask ourselves is , are we shake-able , are we breakable , can bad news destroy our vision and passion for life. The answer for the men of God is and should be NO. What an encouraging set of verses, words that really speak truth into our hearts. The two things that make us unshakable in all the turmoil around is our righteousness through Him and our trust in the Lord.
Our heart becomes firm and steady when our trust is the Lord and our walk is on the path of righteousness. We as men of God should not expect the presence of God when our minds and bodies are buried in evil and sin , it is when our walk is in righteousness that the presence of God through the Holy Spirit fills our lives making us trust Jesus in every situation.
Our fear of bad news disappears as we trust the Lord, our victory is already seen over our enemies and our hearts are firm and steady in the hands of our saviour Jesus Christ. We are no more afraid because we look in victory on all our problems. The look of defeat and worry is removed, He has already won the battle for us. We are unshakable and unbreakable because as long as our paths are on righteousness and our trust in Jesus , we are victorious in Him.
